We will pick you up from your hotel at 4:00 a.m. to begin the journey. At approximately 7:00 a.m., we will stop along the way for breakfast. We will continue the route, passing through the town of Huallanca around 10:30 a.m., and then arriving at La Unión near 12:00 p.m. At 1:00 p.m., we will head toward Huánuco Marka for a brief visit to the archaeological site. Later, at 2:30 p.m., we will stop on the route for lunch. Finally, around 4:00 p.m., we will arrive at the village of Queropalca (12,467 ft), where we will spend the night and prepare for the start of the trek the following day.

After breakfast in Queropalca, we will begin the hike toward Lake Carhuacocha. The trail ascends gradually through wide valleys surrounded by Andean landscapes, offering the first views of the Jirishanca and Yerupajá peaks. The hike takes approximately 4 to 5 hours, depending on the group’s pace. Upon arriving at the Carhuacocha campsite (13,582 ft), we will enjoy a hot lunch and have the afternoon free to rest or explore the surroundings with spectacular views of the valley and the lake.

After breakfast, we will start the hike toward the TAM viewpoint, where you can observe the entire mountain range and the valley’s three lakes. Then, we will continue the ascent to Carhuac Pass (15,091 ft), enjoying impressive views of Mount Yerupajá and Mount Jirishanca. After the pass, we will descend through the valley to reach the Mitucocha campsite (13,877 ft), where we will have lunch and an afternoon free to rest or explore.

After breakfast in Mitucocha, we will begin a progressive ascent through a wide and silent valley toward Qaqanan Pass (15,420 ft), which offers panoramic views of the Rondoy, Jirishanca, and Ninashanca peaks. After a short break at the pass, we will start the descent toward the Rondoy Valley, moving through Andean meadows and mountain formations typical of the range. The hike takes about 5 to 6 hours. Upon arriving at the Rondoy campsite (13,779 ft), we will enjoy lunch and have the afternoon free to rest.

After breakfast in Rondoy, we will begin the hike up to Zambunya Pass (15,584 ft), considered one of the most impressive viewpoints of the circuit due to its direct views of the Yerupajá, Jirishanca, and Rasac peaks. After enjoying the landscape and a brief rest at the pass, we will begin the long descent toward the spectacular Jahuacocha Valley, surrounded by mountains and turquoise lakes. The hike lasts approximately 6 to 7 hours. At the Jahuacocha campsite (13,353 ft), we will have lunch and an afternoon free to rest or explore the area around the lake.

This day is dedicated to rest and relaxation at the Jahuacocha campsite. After breakfast, travelers can peacefully enjoy the spectacular scenery surrounding the lake, accompanied by the Yerupajá, Jirishanca, and Rondoy peaks. The morning and afternoon will be free for optional activities, such as short hikes nearby, artisanal fishing, photography, or simply resting and recharging before continuing the trek.

After breakfast in Jahuacocha, we will begin the final hike, ascending to Pampa Llamac Pass (14,107 ft), where we will enjoy the last panoramic view of the Huayhuash mountain range. Then, we will start a long descent to the town of Llamac, where a light snack will be offered on the way. In Llamac, private transportation will be waiting to return us to Huaraz, where the agency will welcome travelers with a traditional regional meal or a dish of the client’s choice.
