  • Departure from Huaraz at 2:00 AM for Cuartelhuain (6–7 hours by transport).
  • Start of the trek toward the Cacananpunta Pass (15,420 ft).
  • Descent to the campsite next to Mitucocha Lagoon, surrounded by the Rondoy and Jirishanca peaks.
  • Overnight at Mitucocha camp.

  • Gentle ascent to the Carhuac Pass, with panoramic views of Yerupajá Chico and Jirishanca.
  • Descent toward Carhuacocha Lagoon, one of the most beautiful in the range, at the foot of Yerupajá and Siulá Grande.
  • Overnight at Carhuacocha camp.

  • Hike along the turquoise Gangrajanca, Siulacocha, and Quesillococha lagoons.
  • Ascent to the Siula Pass (15,748 ft), one of the most spectacular on the circuit.
  • Descent to the Huayhuash valley. Overnight at Huayhuash camp.

  • Ascent to the Portachuelo de Huayhuash Pass (15,584 ft).
  • Descent toward the Elefante Pampa area, surrounded by Andean landscapes and deep canyons.
  • Overnight at Elefante Pampa camp.

  • Climb to the Tapush Pass, with views of Diablo Mudo.
  • Long descent toward the village of Huayllapa, where you can rest and visit the local community.
  • Overnight at Huayllapa camp.

  • Early departure, trekking toward the Pumarinri Pass (approx. 15,092 ft).
  • Descent toward the town of Cajatambo, where the trek ends.
  • Transfer by transport to Lima or scheduled return.
  • End of trekking.

  • Coca leaves (optional – helps with altitude)

  • Snacks (dried fruits, energy bars, etc.)
  • Personal Backpack (Daypack) to carry your belongings during the hike
  • Trekking Poles (if you suffer from knee problems or other discomfort)

  • Important Note on Luggage: You must limit your personal gear to 5 to 6 kilograms (approx. 11-13 lbs) per person for the donkey to carry (trekking gear)
