Departure from Huaraz (3,100 m / 10,171 ft) by road heading south. En route, we pass through Chiquián (3,400 m / 11,155 ft), known as the “Balcony of the Huayhuash,” an excellent place to acclimate and enjoy panoramic views. The journey continues toward Llamac, a small Andean village that marks the beginning of the Huayhuash circuit. Finally, we arrive at the Cuartelhuain campsite (4,170 m / 13,681 ft); from there, you can appreciate the Huayhuash Mountain Range with outstanding views of the Ninashanca and Rondoy peaks.

After breakfast at 7:00 a.m. at the Cuartelhuain camp (4,170 m / 13,681 ft), the ascent begins toward Sambunya Pass (4,700 m / 15,420 ft), one of the highest points of the trek. With panoramic views of the Huayhuash Mountain Range, the descent begins toward Jahuacocha Lagoon (4,070 m / 13,353 ft), located at the foot of imposing snow-capped peaks such as Jirishanca and Yerupajá. This location, surrounded by untouched nature, is perfect for camping, relaxing, and admiring one of the most iconic landscapes of the mountain range.

From the camp at Jahuacocha Lagoon (4,070 m / 13,353 ft), a round-trip hike begins toward Yaucha Pass (4,800 m / 15,748 ft), one of the best viewpoints on the route. From there, you access the Huacrish Viewpoint, which offers an impressive view of the snow-capped peaks and the surrounding landscape. Then, we descend via the same route back to the camp at Jahuacocha.

From the camp at Jahuacocha (4,070 m / 13,353 ft), the descent begins along the trail toward Pampa Llamac, a point from which you have one last panoramic view of the Huayhuash Mountain Range. The hike continues to the village of Llamac, where the return transportation to Huaraz awaits. End of the tour.
